For good dashi, try boiling a good amount of dried bonito flakes(katsuobushi) in water, and placing a piece of edible kelp(kombu) in the pot for 10 minutes or longer.Tokyo Consult, TokyoConsult.http://tokyoconsult.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4045859997804888278.post-55247096824518728592012-06-27T11:40:00.271+09:002012-06-27T11:40:00.271+09:00Thanks StarBrooke, The great thing about Miso soup...Thanks StarBrooke, The great thing about Miso soup is that just about everything goes. Miso is not as common but still can be found in regular supermarkets. Best to shop at Asian supermarkets as they have a bigger range and better prices.

JohnJapan-Australiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07970708785185874284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4045859997804888278.post-8237154972611565762012-06-27T11:32:07.316+09:002012-06-27T11:32:07.316+09:00Thanks Cocomino for the positive feedback :) I can...Thanks Cocomino for the positive feedback :) I can and do eat miso soup all year round as well.

JohnJapan-Australiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07970708785185874284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4045859997804888278.post-8466720857648939472012-06-27T09:36:24.284+09:002012-06-27T09:36:24.284+09:00Carrots?!?
