Japanese Song of the Week Kata Omoi Finally by SKE48
This week's Japanese Song of the Week is Kata Omoi Finally by SKE48, which has debuted at number 1 on the Japanese J-Pop Oricon charts. SKE48 are an all-female idol group produced by Yasushi Akimoto. They debuted in October 2008 and perform in the newly built studio at Sunshine Sakae in Nagoya every Saturday. This is the groups 7th single. The song is very upbeat and happy and this is a live version of the song.
Watch the music video for the single Kata Omoi Finally by SKE48.
Hahaha you should cover NMB48, HKT48 and JKT48 then. BTW the first video is private and I'm pretty sure most of your readers won't be able to view it :(
Also the music video is pretty, uh, 'dark' - I don't think it's a happy song at all if you ask me ;)
Thanks Kevin Mario, I'm going to try and cover all the other groups as well, so stay posted. Thanks for the heads up about the first video. I've just corrected that and added a new live performance of the song. BTW it is hard to find good videos of SKE48 as they remove them often from YouTube. Yes, the PV is quite dark for J-pop and different and I guess that is why it has worked well for them :)
I did not know SKE48 at all. I only know the name of AKB48.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
Thanks Minor, They are pretty popular in Japan, but no one can come close to the popularity of AKB48!
