  1. I always take the easy way and make my miso soup from the instant packet. XD

  2. Thanks Lina, The instant packets are good for a quick miso soup, but if you have the time then try making it from miso paste.

  3. For me it's not so much about time but to avoid wastage. I usually can't finish a tub of miso paste before its expiry date. :(

  4. Miso, rice and grilled fish... a perfect match. I still can't fathom that the majority of Japanese people eat this for breakfast though!

  5. @Japan Tral Mate,
    Don't forget natto too! XD

  6. Thanks Lina, we usually find other uses for it such as a spoonful of miso to add flavor to stir-fries and sauces.

Thanks JTM, it's a classic Japanese combo of rice, miso soup and grilled fish. Miso soup is traditionally served at the end of the meal together with gohan (boiled rice) and tsukemono (pickles).

  7. Miso soup is one of my favorites, especially with tonkatsu (one of my favorite dishes, too) :)

  8. Thanks Muza-chan, that is a great combination. Tonkatsu with cabbage on the side, a bowl of rice and miso soup. Can't beat it!!
